You Are Wanted

you-are-wanted

You are wanted! Christ came to this earth so that He could draw all to Himself to have a relationship with Him (John 12:32).

Many of you have been in relationships where the other person made you feel unwanted:

  • Maybe you were born into a family that didn’t really want you, so you never felt a sense of belonging.
  • Maybe you have experienced peer relationships at school where you were made to feel left out.
  • Maybe you have experienced a broken marriage where there was nothing you could do to put together the pieces.
  • I know many women who have never felt wanted physically by their husbands. Their husbands consider them unattractive.

This rejection can be devastating, especially when it comes from people you love. But I want you to know Someone who will never reject you. That person is Jesus Christ. “All those the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never drive away.” John 6:37 NIV

It doesn’t matter if you have been made to feel unwanted by loved ones in your life. Because the One who truly matters—the Creator and Sustainer of the universe—wants us for Himself! He wants a relationship with us!

we-are-wanted-by-Christ

1 Timothy 2:4 tells us that God “wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

Jeremiah 31:3 says “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

God says He will never leave you or forsake you in Deuteronomy 31:6.

Isaiah 41:10 ESV says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

So He not only draws us to Himself because He wants us but here are some of the things He provides us with:

  • His everlasting love
  • His presence
  • His strength
  • His help
  • His upholding

wanted

We don’t ever have to feel rejected. Rejection is something the enemy uses in our lives to make us feel like we are worthless when the opposite is true! We have value in Christ!

Don’t let the enemy lead you to believe that you are worthless if Christ says you are loved and that He wants you for Himself. Just let that sink in for a moment… Christ values you and wants you!

You are Honored

you-are-honored

Do you know that you are honored?

God honors us! He gives us dignity, and nobody can take it away. In the beautiful passage of Isaiah 43:4, God says “You are precious in My sight, since you are honored and I love you…”

To honor means to regard with great respect.

Even though God will get all the glory and the honor for whatever He has done through us, God will commend us for what we did right. God “will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.” 1 Corinthians 4:5b God is pleased with us when we obey Him, and He will say to each of us who have been faithful: “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)

In the same way, we are to honor one another. Romans 12: 10 says we need to show honor to everyone: “Outdo one another in showing honor.”

Scripture points out specific people that we should be especially sure to honor. For example, we should show honor to our mother and father (Exodus 20:12)

honored

We are supposed to show honor to our pastors and leaders. (1 Timothy 5:17)

1 Peter 3:7 commands husbands to show honor to their wives as a fellow heir of grace.

Of course, we should also show honor to our husbands (Ephesians 5:33 says that the wife is to respect her husband.)

Honor is important in the way that we treat one another. We believe the best in each other.

Even if someone treats you in a dishonoring way, no one can take away your dignity, because God Himself gives you honor. So you are honored!

You can’t force others to treat you in a certain way, but you can treat others with honor.

You are Rejoiced Over

you-are-rejoiced-over

Did you know that God rejoices over you? Yes, you are rejoiced over by God Himself! Listen to this:

The LORD your God is in your midst,
A mighty one who will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness;
He will quiet you by his love;
He will exult over you with loud singing.

Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

Singing represents joy. God expresses joy when people do what is right. God is full of emotion, and He is rooting for us. He is not against us! (Romans 8:31)

We bring God joy!

The sinless angels in heaven are reflecting the joy that God has. What makes God happy makes the angels happy. What makes God sad makes the angels sad. The angels and God are on the same side.

Here is more insight from Scripture to see where the angels in heaven reflect the joy of God:

  • Through creation: “…while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” Job 38:7 NIV
  • When we repent of sin: “There is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10 ESV
  • When we display our faith in God: We are told after the Hebrews Hall of Faith that “we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) and that our acts of obedience and faith do not go unnoticed by God!
  • When we endure unjust treatment: “For God is pleased when, conscious of His will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.” 1 Peter 2:19 NLT

rejoice-over-you

When we hold on to our faith when our circumstances are dark, when we continue to trust God when everything seems against us… When we minister to others even when we ourselves are hurting… This brings joy to God.

When we delight in God, this brings delight to God! This is why singing praises in the midst of difficult circumstances brings so much glory to God. The cloud of unseen witnesses around us roots for us and rejoices when they see us bringing glory to God.

Here is a poem I wrote today as I was pondering these things:

God rejoices
When He sees me
He sings!

Joy and freedom
Free from sin
Dancing!

Joy knows no bounds
Limitless smile
Approval!

rejoiced-over

Just like we as parents rejoice over our children when they do what is right, in the same way, God rejoices over us. Even if a child is mostly disobedient, when we see that child doing what is right, we as parents get so happy. We delight in any good thing our children do. It is the same way with God.

The Lord is not a hard task master. He is a God who delights in us. Let that sink in! You are rejoiced over by God!

You are Beautiful

Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

you-are-beautiful

You are beautiful! Beauty is what radiates from inside of you, and because as a Christian you are a new creation in Christ, you radiate His presence from your face! The more you know who you are, the more you will radiate.

It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside. Even if you have a terrible accident, you can still be beautiful because your eyes reflect your soul, and in the expression of your face there is beauty.

We can also take care of our bodies: eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, exercise, and get the right amount of sleep. When we take care of our bodies–showering and grooming ourselves–we put forward our best selves, even on the exterior. Every woman has her own unique beauty.

I-am-beautiful

God chose your face, your hair color, and your body structure before the beginning of time, and He made no mistakes. Accept your outer body, and make the best of it. Even your outer body is beautiful because you were made by God. You are a masterpiece of artistry. Every freckle is right where it’s supposed to be. Stop trying to measure up to someone else’s appearance. You are beautiful just the way you are right now.

The Song of Solomon is an interaction between a husband and his wife, but it is also symbolic of Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:32). When the man speaks to his wife, this is Christ speaking to us: “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” (Song of Solomon 4:7 ESV) Christ did not make a mistake when He created us. Let’s stop insulting God by not accepting ourselves just the way He made us.

you-are-beautiful-2

Here is a poem I wrote recently as I was learning to accept that it doesn’t matter if other people insult your physical appearance. I know many Christian women whose husbands say they are fat and they are not attractive. They feel crushed inward and are sad. I want to lift them up right now. I know men with skinny wives who are continuously pointing out the flaws, and these women don’t feel wanted either. Please know that these men are wrong, that they are comparing their wives to airbrushed models that don’t eat and have gotten plastic surgery. These are fake people. You are real. You are beautiful. God created you and made no mistakes. You have no flaw!

You are Beautiful (Haiku)

Delight in God’s eyes
He thought you up before time
He says, “You are Mine.”

God bestows His child
With honor and dignity
You are beautiful

knowing-how-beautiful-you-are

The closer we draw to Christ, the more beautiful we become, because we radiate that supernatural beauty. But even in our worst moments, we are beautiful because God created us and does not make mistakes. “I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14 ESV

Here is a song you can listen to, so that you can understand how beautiful you are to God. Just let it sink in:
