You are Forgiven

you-are-forgiven

If you are a child of God, you are forgiven. Jesus died on the cross for your sins so that you could be set free from condemnation. He justified you before God, and all of your sins were nailed to the cross: past, present, and future.

If you accidentally sin, you can confess your sins to God and ask Him to help you overcome the sin (I John 1:9). God will set you free from each sin, either instantly or over the years as you are transformed into the image of Christ. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1).

As soon as you find out that you’ve sinned, you can ask God’s forgiveness, and He forgives your sin as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).

If you have a vague sense of condemnation, this is not from God but from the enemy. True conviction from the Lord is specific, and when you confess it, it’s gone! You feel fresh and clean.

You can feel fresh and clean right now. There is never a reason to feel defeated. We are more than conquerors in Christ (Romans 8:37).

If someone is trying to make you feel condemned, they are doing the work of the enemy. Don’t live under their oppression, but let them own their own sin of being condemning. Put up your shield of faith and don’t let their words of death go into you and wound you. God does not slice into us and whip us and harm us. If you are feeling beaten down, this is the enemy and not God.

Yes, the enemy and the world always tries to remind and accuse us of our sins. So thankful that God chooses to forget our sins, and that He sent His Son to pay a debt that I could never pay back….I am not perfect but FORGIVEN by a God who is =)

  2. Keisha says:

Thank God for his loving forgiveness, even when we don’t deserve it!

Satan likes to accuse! Thank you for the confirmation of what we are in Christ!

  6. Jackie says:

Thank you for this. I keep arguing with person each time and she brings up things I did in the past each time like I haven’t changed for the better. I will teach myself to repent my sons and pray that God gives me a shield from Condemnation.

  7. I love your message of Forgiveness! We can get stuck in shame and forget we are loved by an amazing God!

  8. Heather says:

I absolutely love this blog series. The forgiveness we have in Christ can be incomprehensible unless we really know who He is. God is so good.

Yes, God is good, and He keeps His Word. All we have to do is confess our sin and ask God for forgiveness, and it’s immediately granted!

  9. Jess says:

Condemnation is a difficult one to get past. It’s easy for my perfectionism to take over that I often have to ask for God’s help. I recognize it sooner, but it’s still a big challenge in my life!

  10. Maria Hass says:

I always cringe away from believers who say things like “you are cursed if you…” or “you are still under sin if you…” because I believe that God’s forgiveness is so powerful there’s nothing I can do to separate me from His love, and nothing that would put me too far away from Him to save me. Thank you!
